Magic link email isnt arriving
Sending domain, from-address, spam folders and what to check first.
A customer says "I clicked the login button but the email never came". The vast majority of the time this is one of three issues.
1. It is in spam
Ask them to check. Magic link emails are short and come from a no-reply-style address, both of which spam filters flag. Setting up a verified sending domain (see next section) is the durable fix.
2. Your sending domain is not verified
Jeanus sends magic links from your own domain so they read as coming from your business, not from ours. Until the domain is verified, delivery falls back to a shared sender that is more likely to hit spam or greylisting.
Go to Settings > Email and check the domain status. If the badge says "Unverified", add the DNS records shown and click Verify. Verification usually happens within a couple of minutes; sometimes an hour if your DNS provider is slow to propagate.
3. Your from-address is not set
Go to Settings > Email > From address. This is the from-address that customers see and that replies go back to. If it is blank, or set to an address on an unverified domain, delivery becomes unreliable. Set it to something like hello@yourdomain.com that matches a verified sending domain.
Still stuck?
Email help@pixelandshovel.co.uk with the customer's email address and roughly what time they tried to log in. We can trace the send from the mail service side and tell you whether the email left our system, whether it was accepted by the recipient's server, and whether it bounced or was flagged as spam.
