AI prospect finder - overview

What the feature is, when to use it, and what it can and cannot do.

Updated 3 July 2026

The AI prospect finder is a Find New Leads button on the Pipeline page. You type what you are looking for in plain English, Jeanus searches the web and returns a shortlist of real companies with sites, sectors, and a reason for each match. You pick the ones you want and they land straight in your pipeline as leads.

Where to find it

Pipeline > Find prospects. Also on the Lead intake / leads-intake page and inside the AI co-pilot on the dashboard. Everywhere it appears, the flow is the same.

Writing a good brief

Prospect finder quality goes up sharply when you write the brief the way you would tell a new hire. Specifics you should include:

  • What kind of business - sector, product, business model. "FMCG wholesalers", "SaaS companies with 20-50 employees", "design agencies with a video capability".
  • Where - country or region. "in the South East", "UK-only", "Northern England".
  • Any qualifying signals - "with dated websites", "hiring for a marketing director", "recently raised", "listed on Companies House in the last 2 years".

Bad brief: "sales leads". Good brief: "FMCG wholesalers with dated websites in the South East, VAT registered, minimum 12 months trading".

What it returns

Between 5 and 20 companies per search, each with a name, a website, a location, and a one-line reason for being on the list. The reason comes from what the AI found on the company's own site or in public databases. If a result looks off, hover over the reason - it explains what signal caught it.

Adding results to your pipeline

Tick the companies you want and click Add to pipeline. Each becomes a lead in your first stage with the company name, URL and reason pre-filled as a note. Auto-enrichment kicks off in the background so trading name, sector and Companies House info populate within a few seconds.

Credit cost. Each prospect search costs 4 AI credits. Your monthly plan comes with credits included; heavy searchers top up with a credit pack. See AI credits for the current pricing.

When it works well vs when it does not

  • Works well: UK businesses with reasonable web presence. B2B with clear ICP language (specific job titles, revenue bands, sectors).
  • Less reliable: very niche verticals with few web-visible players, consumer businesses (Jeanus is B2B-focused), or countries with less rich English-language search coverage.

Follow-up

Once a prospect is in your pipeline you can immediately hit the Find emails button on it - which returns verified email addresses for the target job titles at that company - then draft a personalised first email with AI. Prospect finder plus find-emails plus AI-drafted outreach is the full loop from "we want more customers like X" to "email is in the inbox" in about three minutes.
