Kanban board vs milestone list
Two shapes, when to pick which.
Every project in Jeanus is either a kanban board (columns of tasks) or a milestone list (dated checkpoints). You choose the shape at creation and can switch later without losing work.
Kanban
Best for ongoing delivery work where the mix of tasks is fluid. Columns are To do, In progress, Blocked, Done by default; you can rename or add columns per project. Reps drag cards between columns as work moves.
Use when: agencies doing sprint-based work, consultancies with a rolling backlog, ops teams with lots of small tasks.
Milestone
Best for delivery work with a clear waterfall shape. Each milestone has a name, a due date, and a status. You can attach files, comments and sub-tasks to a milestone.
Use when: fixed-scope projects with client sign-off between phases, professional services engagements with a defined SoW, construction or event work.
Switching between shapes
From the project overflow menu, choose Change board shape. Tasks become milestones (or vice versa) with sensible defaults. Statuses map across as best they can - "In progress" becomes "Active", "Done" becomes "Complete", etc.
